Los Angeles declares CURFEW

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti imposed a curfew from 8 p.m. to ensure the safety of all citizens, following widespread demonstrations of anti-police atrocities in clashes and riots.

There were large-scale protests by Black Lives activists, initially peaceful. However, the situation on the ground remained tense, and the meetings clashed with the police on Saturday afternoon.

Garcetti said the curfew would be enforced in Los Angeles. The move was announced earlier this week in the midst of the fourth consecutive day of protests that began after the killing of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, during the detention of a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
