In Tosha Khana case, the court issued a bailable arrest warrant for Nawaz Sharif

The accountability court issued a bailable arrest warrant for former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Toshakhana reference.

The hearing was presided over by AC Judge Asghar Ali, in which former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani appeared in court, while former President Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif abstained.

At the beginning of the hearing, Asif Ali Zardari's lawyer presented his client's medical reports and asked the court to grant him an exemption from attendance.

The petition was opposed by NAB Deputy Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar, but the court granted the petition and directed former President Asif Ali Zardari to appear in the reference on June 11.

During the proceedings, the prosecutor of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) requested the court to issue arrest warrants against Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Yousuf Raza Gilani and Omni Group director Abdul Ghani Majeed.

But the court rejected the anti-graft watchdog's request and ordered the issuance of an arrest warrant only for former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The case was later adjourned till June 11.
