Former Congressman Alan West of Florida injured in motorcycle accident
The former Congressman was in stable condition after being taken to hospital, according to a post on the West's Facebook page on Saturday.
The Facebook Post reported that West was on his motorcycle when he was hit by a car, which caused him to collide with another motorcyclist.
Angela Graham West, West's wife, first wrote on Facebook that the accident happened outside Waco.
The Dallas Morning News reported that West attended a rally in the Texas Capital on Saturday morning aimed at reopening the state amid the corona virus epidemic.
Former state Sen. Dan Huffens told the newspaper that the accident happened on the way back from the Western Rally.
West is running as president of the Republican Party of Texas.
