California is the fourth state with at least 100,000 known cases.

California has become the fourth U.S. state to become infected with at least 100,000 known corona viruses, with the nation joining a serious group of nearly 100,000 deaths from the virus in Illinois, New Jersey and New York.

The growing number of cases in some California counties comes as infections have been reported in other parts of the country, including the Minneapolis Area, Wisconsin and parts of the South. And the growing number of infections is certainly fueling the debate over when and how government officials should reduce restrictions on the country in an effort to reduce the spread of the virus.
